Alice Edwards Village

I recently travelled to the New South Wales country town of Bourke in the north west of the state. Myself and Rachel Olding, journalist with The Sydney Morning Herald, worked on a couple of stories regarding the high crime rate and sexual abuse statistics that unfortunately dog the town. Amongst the weight of such issues, we were fortunate to spend some time with the community of Alice Edwards Village, an aboriginal community on the outskirts of town. On a couple of evenings I tagged a long with a group of young men as they went fishing along the Darling River and hunting for rabbits.
